Our Partners

Establishing and cultivating relationships with nonprofits and corporations is a key to our success. VU Chicago would not be what it is today without the strong partnerships we have developed over the years. Our volunteers seek out the opportunity to make change in the city, and that work is often provided and championed by the nonprofit and corporate organizations that have worked with us monthly. Help us continue to grow our footprint and make Chicago a better place for everyone!

In 2023 we worked with…

- The Every Woman Project

- Lasagna Love

- EcoShip

- Breakthrough

- Cardz for Kidz

- Gardeneers

- Habitat for Humanity Chicago

- Chicago Park District

- Creative Chicago Reuse Exchange

- Heartland Alliance

- Bickerdike

- SparkShop

- Lincoln Park Conservancy

- Share Our Spare

- Amensty International

- Focus Fairies Mentoring

- Inner Voice

…and more! That’s just some of the 50+ nonprofit partners we’ve worked with over the past 7 years.

“When it comes to bringing together talented and motivated individuals who are focused on serving Chicago communities, Volunteering Untapped is leading the charge. VU offers a unique balance of community service and community fellowship that creates the ultimate volunteering experience.

I am constantly inspired by the drive and motivation that these volunteers exude and have in turn become part of Volunteering Untapped community myself. Whether they are reviving our urban farm or quickly shifting to support community organizations during a pandemic, VU always leaves a lasting impact.”

— Celeste Johnson, Community Engagement Manager at Heartland Alliance

2023-2024 Grant Cycle

Our second year, we granted a $2,500 grant to LYTE Collective and partnered with them in an event beautifying the LYTE Lounge.

2022-2023 Grant Cycle

We launched the first cycle of our grant program in 2022 in order to financially support our non-profit partners making a positive impact in Chicago every day. We awarded $2,000 in grants to:

Bickerdike Redevelopment Corporation: VU grant funds went toward the purchase of a dual-bin composter to eliminate food waste, promote healthy eating, and support educational programming in Humboldt Park community gardens.

Asian Youth Services: VU grant funds went toward food for 30 children in afterschool programs in Albany Park.

Creative Chicago Reuse Exchange: VU grant funds went toward the creation of a marketing promotion video to educate community members on reusing trash and environmental stewardship.

Lasagna Love & The Community Builders: VU grant funds went toward supplies and meals to create 80 lasagnas and cards for Bronzeville families.
